Create a Ritual

Life and Wellness Coach

As a Wellness Coach I always find myself telling my clients (as they roll their eyes) to create a ritual either in the morning or at night to take note of 1 or 2 things they are grateful for.

It doesn’t have to be a long ritual.

It can take 10 seconds but it’s just taking the time to pause, acknowledge and say thank you to the universe, friends or family.

Some of my clients push back.

They have a difficult time stopping to just sit there and reflect.

Most are uncomfortable sitting with themselves.

Most are uncomfortable being grateful.

This is why I have them do it.

Yes, being grateful is important.

But so is learning how to sit in it – the good as well as the bad.

Learning how to stop.

Learning how to sit still.

Learning how to reflect.

This is very difficult for most of my clients – busy professionals.

Knowing you have to do the gratitude ritual forces you to be more conscious of your surroundings, forces you to connect with others and forces you to connect with yourself.

Slowing down to take note of your day, slows down your day.

This is why I ask my clients do it.

OVER TO YOU:
Do you have a gratitude ritual?
If so, what does it look like?
