Dr. Michelle Amezaga Gonzalez is both a doctor in psychology and a licensed mental health counselor with over 10 years of experience. She earned her doctorate degree from Cal Southern University and holds two masters degrees from Nova Southeastern University and Carlos Albizu University.
She began her career at the child anxiety and phobia clinic where she began her specialty with children and adolescents. She has been practicing for over seven years in Community mental health agencies with a wide spectrum of populations and issues.
Dr. Gonzalez’s goal is to help children, adolescents, adults and families learn to cope and process current stressful issues. Her areas of specialty are depression, anxiety/fears, (ADHD) Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Substance abuse, poor self-esteem issues and adjustment disorders associated with divorce of parents or other life changing events. She works directly with the family court and other private institutions. She strives to incorporate the body and mind using a holistic approach into her sessions. As a practicing professional Dr. Gonzalez continues to look to many resources to keep developing her skills and perfect how she practices within a broad spectrum of areas.
Dr. Gonzalez believes that developing a trusting therapeutic relationship is the key factor for success in therapy. She offers individual, couple’s and family psychotherapy in a safe environment to help clients improve the quality of their lives and level of emotional functioning.
She is fluent in Spanish.
