2024 – Open to Change BUT Do You

Whether 2024 slid in or came in with a bang, with the New Year we have a New Journey.

We have a chance to repeat the things we loved about last year.

We also have a chance for a do over.  Is there something you believe you can change or do better?

And, let’s not forget, this is also an opportunity to try new things.

The good news is – we are in charge.  We are the ones that have control.  It’s OUR New Year to do with as we wish!

December 31 is my day of celebration and January 1 is my day of reckoning.  I like staying home alone quietly.  It’s the only day of the year I’m intentional about going into my liminal state.

This allows a smooth transition from the old into the new.  I look back; I close my year.

I then look forward, and I open my new year.

I look at the year behind me.  Which goals did I accomplish?  Did I miss any?  Are the goals I missed still necessary?  If not, I adjust or let go.

I then close out the old calendar and open my new crisp, clean one for the New Year.

For me this ritual energizes me for what is ahead.

Some of you may have a similar ritual on January 1.  But some of you may have spent a beautiful January 1 celebrating with family and friends.

And still others may have lost someone and spent it grieving instead of celebrating.

The important thing is that we can move forward from where we are now while staying true to who we are and what we want in 2024.

All, while remaining open to change that allows us to expand and grow throughout the year.

How do you want to live 2024?
