“I don’t have enough hours in a day!”
“I don’t have time!”
“I’m too busy!”
“I have too much work!”
“I’m always so busy!”
“I don’t have time for me!”
If this sounds like you…news flash..every human being on this earth has the same amount of hours in a day.
If this is true, why do some of us get more done with the same number of hours than others?
As a Life Coach, I have clients that want to know which time management system to use. They want me to select it for them.
But, the issue may not be the time management system they are using. As humans, we immediately jump to changing what we are doing when looking for a solution instead of looking at our thoughts first.
Our thoughts drive our actions. Not the other way around. So, we can jump from one time management system to another. But, if our thoughts are still:
“I don’t have enough hours in a day!”
“I don’t have time!”
“I’m too busy!”
“I have too much work!”
“I’m ALWAYS so busy!”
“I don’t have time for me!”
The results will remain the same…getting less done in 24 hours than others with the same amount of time.
Is it possible to still get things done even with these thoughts running around in our heads?
Maybe, but the day just gets so much harder. The brain will want to shut us down to protect us. Consider reframing your thoughts and how you talk to yourself. Words DO matter. If not chosen carefully, they will be a big time waster. Think from a place of abundance and not scarcity or lack. This change of habit will not be immediate. But when we train our brain to rethink and reframe over and over again, eventually, it will come naturally.
Then, with a clean headspace, you can consider changing your time management system if necessary.
