Many of us are constantly worrying about our weight. This is true whether we’re at the “ideal” weight or not.If we’re at the “ideal” weight we worry we’ll gain weight or we feel it’s not “ideal” enough. If we’re over the “ideal” weight it’s a constant struggle to reach the elusive “ideal” weight for our age, height, and body composition.
Some of us want to lose 5 to 10 pounds for the summer bikini and others want to lose 50 to 100 pounds by the end of the year. Regardless of where we’re at on our weight journey most of us are on a quest to reach our “happiness.”
Why is it that some of us connect the number on the scale with our joy and happiness? Why is it that when some of us reach what we believe is our “ideal” weight we’re still not happy? Why is it that when some of us get on the latest and trendiest diet, lose 50 pounds we gain it all back and some?
We have body image and weight issues we carry from our past regardless of what the scale says is our number. A successful journey to health and wellness begins where we are today. Not who we were in the past. In order to be able to do this we have to leave our past in the past and only then can we begin to be happy with who we are today – regardless of the number on the scale.
So, how do we move on from here? How can we move on from our past and to the present in order to move on to a happier future?
