We often think prevention means avoiding pain. Like if we do things “right,” nothing difficult will happen.
But life sometimes is not always easy to decode. Pain is part of being human. Discomfort, loss, conflict, uncertainty.
Those are experiences we can’t always prevent. And trying to do so often creates more pressure, more control, more fear of getting it wrong.
Prevention is something else.
Prevention begins in small moments, in noticing when something feels off before it becomes heavier to carry.

It shows up in paying attention when your body shifts, when your patience gets shorter, when something inside asks for attention.
It’s a quiet kind of response, a pause, a check-in, a small adjustment that keeps you in contact with what is happening.
Suffering often builds in the space where avoidance lives, in the waiting, in the minimizing, in continuing as if everything is fine.
Over time, that accumulation weighs more than the initial experience.
Prevention doesn’t mean life becomes easy.
It means you stay connected to yourself as life happens.
Things don’t have to fall apart before you choose to listen – and that quiet choice can change your future.
What would it look like to respond a little earlier, while things are still manageable?
